Who can be a Marching Knight?
Thank you for your interest in the UCF Marching Knights. Our application period has closed for the 2025 season. Please check back in February for details on how to join in 2026. If you have any questions, please email [email protected]
Marching Knights is a performing ensemble (class) in the School of Performing Arts open to students enrolled at UCF. Students will sign up for the two-credit course MUN 3113 (Marching Band) when registering for classes for Fall 2026. Percussion and Starlet Knights will also register for and MUN3444 (Mallet Ensemble). Specific requirements apply to certain groups within the Marching Knights:
Woodwinds & Brass
All new Brass and Woodwind members will need to fill out the Intent to March form, which will include a video audition consisting of music and basic marching technique.
All returning members will need to fill out the Intent to March form, but will not need to submit a video, unless they are planning to change instruments or part placement from last year.
Color Guard
Auditions are held in Spring/Summer for the Fall season. An Intent to March form must be submitted before your audition.
Starlet Knights Color Guard auditions will be held May 16 and June 20, 2026.
Majorettes
Auditions are held in Spring/Summer for the Fall season. An Intent to March form must be submitted before your audition.
Starlet Knights Majorettes auditions will be held March 21, 2026.
Drumline
Auditions are held in Spring/Summer for the Fall season. An Intent to March form must be submitted before your audition.
Drum Line auditions will be held May 16 and June 20, 2026. An Intent to March must be submitted before your audition.
Community/State College Students
At this time, we are not accepting Community/State college students into the Marching Knights. The only exception are students who are admitted to UCF for Spring 2027 may audition for the fall 2026 Marching Knights.
New students that have been offered UCF Degree Seeking admission for Spring 2027 should email Ms. Barbara Kelly-Hursey ([email protected]) as soon as possible, to discuss options for participation during the Fall 2026 Marching Season.

Register for the Class
Enroll in MUN 3113 when your Fall 2026 registration opens. Percussion and Starlet Knights also register for MUN3444.
