Defining Works for Wind Symphony

Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts

The UCF School of Performing Arts and UCF Bands present a special concert by the UCF Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band, with guest ensemble, the Wind Ensemble from Timber Creek High School. The program will feature one of the most important works in the wind band repertoire, Paul Hindemith’s monumental 1951 Symphony in B-flat. Other works on the program will include more recent compositions such as Silver Fanfare, by Peter Boyer, written as the first movement of a six-movement suite for the Pacific Symphony, and Ash, by Jennifer Jolley, a powerfully programmatic piece reflecting on imagery of California wildfires
