2025 Knights Rising High School Honor Band

Providing an opportunity for the great emerging talent in Florida’s high school instrumental music programs to learn and perform through a selective and inspiring ensemble experience, the UCF Bands are proud to sponsor the annual UCF Knights Rising High School Honor Band.

• Nominations: Directors are encouraged to nominate students that are ready for an honors ensemble experience, whether those on the verge of distinguishing themselves through all-county selection or those who may already have done so. There is a $25 Participation Fee for each of the students selected to the Knights Rising Honor Band. Please watch for 2024 information over the summer (2023)
• Interactive Schedule: Invigorating rehearsals under a distinguished guest conductor and sectional master classes with UCF music faculty & students.
• The Schedule for the weekend is constructed parallel to the UCF Conductors Symposium, providing directors broad opportunity for professional development.
• Directors who have students in the honor band can take advantage of complimentary registration for the UCF Conductors Symposium under non-conducting Participant status! Directors will be provided a coupon code to enter on the symposium payment page.
• Housing/Other: participating students & directors have numerous options for overnight housing on Friday. The La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Orlando UCF and the Celeste Hotel are two outstanding hotels on the edge of the UCF campus. Additionally, there are multiple hotel options along University Blvd, just to the west of campus. Further information, including details of any available group/discount rates will be provided to students selected to the honor bands and to their directors in December, once rosters have been set. The UCF Bands will provide dinner on Friday evening for honor band students. Students are responsible for their other meals.
