Luis Burke

Luis Burke joins the UCF Bands as a Graduate Assistant. In this role, Burke will assist with many administrative aspects of the UCF Band program and work with the Marching Knights, as well as other ensembles. 

Previously, Burke earned a Bachelor of Music in Education from Eastern New Mexico University. While at Eastern New Mexico University, Burke performed with the Roswell Symphony Orchestra (NM) and the Southwest Symphony Orchestra (Hobbs, NM). In addition, he has performed in the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) honor band, earned 2nd place in the New Mexico Division for the 2019 Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Competition and has won the Eastern New Mexico University “Friends of Music” departmental scholarship competition three consecutive years – 2020, 2021, and 2022.

As an educator, Burke was the trumpet/horn instructor with the Clovis High School Band (NM) for three years. The Clovis High School Marching Band is known for its high accomplishments throughout the state of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Utah, and Missouri. Burke also had the responsibility of assisting the middle school bands in Clovis, NM.
