Logan Newhouse is a Graduate Teaching Assistant for UCF Bands. His responsibilities include working in all facets of UCF Bands including the athletic bands and wind band program.
Logan graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, and a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance. While at Iowa, he was a member of the Hawkeye Marching Band, Iowa Symphony Band, the Iowa Steel Band, and the Iowa Percussion Ensemble. In the fall of 2022, Logan performed as a featured snare drum soloist with Iowa Percussion. In addition, Logan performed regionally with the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra and the Southeast Iowa Concert Band. In the summer of 2022, Logan performed at Phi Mu Alpha’s National Convention in St. Louis as a member of the percussion section in Sinfonia Winds. Logan also competed competitively in the WGI Indoor Percussion circuit as a member of Crossroads Percussion. Logan served as the president of the Percussion Society at Iowa, and the music director of the Iota Gamma chapter of Phi Mu Alpha. While at Iowa, Logan was a student of Dr. Daniel Moore.
During his undergraduate education, Logan worked as the drumline instructor and arranger for Williamsburg Jr./Sr. High School while also teaching their individual percussion lessons. Additionally, Logan helped instruct the drumlines at Vinton-Shellsburg High School and Estherville Lincoln Central High School. During his student teaching placement, Logan assisted in all areas of the Iowa City High School band program. This included work with their Symphony Band, Concert Band, Jazz Workshop, Jazz Lab, and Percussion Ensemble.
