Luc van der Lee is a Graduate Teaching Assistant with UCF Bands, where he contributes to all areas of the comprehensive program, including the athletic bands and concert ensembles.
Originally from the Netherlands and a resident of Norway since 2006, Luc is fluent in Dutch, Norwegian, and English. He earned his bachelor’s degree in music performance from the University of Agder and has pursued additional studies at Manger Folkehøgskule, the University of Oslo, the University of Stavanger, the Norwegian Academy of Music, and Boise State University.
A classically trained tubist, Luc has performed extensively with wind and brass bands at the national level in Norway. He was a member of Agder Brass during their 1st-place finish in the 2nd Division of the 2026 Norwegian Championships. In addition to his performance work, he maintains a private brass studio and conducts a variety of ensembles.
His academic research focuses on conducting gesture, specifically examining how physical communication from the conductor influences musical outcomes and the audience’s perceived experience of wind ensemble performance.
Outside of music, Luc enjoys fishing, spending time outdoors, and gaming.
